FAQ
Honey
Why raw honey?
Short answer? It tastes better and it’s better for you.
Raw honey maintains all the beneficial nutrients, antioxidants and enzymes that are naturally found in honey. Most store-bought honey is pasteurized and heat-processed to keep its liquid consistency and to give it a uniform taste and appearance. Not only does this destroy all the health benefits, but you also lose the subtle tastes, unique flavours and delicate aromas that make honey so special.
Why local honey?
Allergy resistance:
Honey is good for combating environmental allergies as it contains a blend of local pollens. Want to build your immune system or reduce seasonal allergies? Have a teaspoon of our honey every day.
Relationship with your environment:
When you buy local honey, you gain a deeper appreciation of your natural environment through the flavours it yields.
Support local producers:
Buying local honey means you’re supporting local agriculture and producers, so you can be sure you know exactly what you’re buying.
The real deal:
More and more mass-market honeys are being blended with foreign “honey” that is actually made of other products like corn syrup, which may contain harmful chemicals and ingredients. With local honey, you can be confident you’re getting the real thing.
Why does the taste of your honey vary?
Just like wine, honey is a product of its terroir, the specific conditions of the area where it’s produced and reflecting all the subtle changes in blooms, weather and soil of a particular season. We like to think of honey as a time capsule of the season, captured in our jars.
Why has my honey crystalized? Does honey expire?
Nope. Honey is the only food that never goes bad—it’s eternally edible! Raw honey will crystalize over time, but this is a completely natural process. If you prefer a liquid consistency just place your jar in a pot of water low heat until it returns to a liquid state.

Candles
How should I burn my candle?
To minimize smoking and for an efficient burn, keep your wick trimmed ¼" before burning. Make sure to burn candles on a fireproof surface that will contain the melting wax. If your candle is tunneling, simply press the edges of the candle towards the centre after extinguishing. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep your candle away from pets and children.
What are the benefits of beeswax?
Clean burning:
Our candles are made with 100% pure bees wax and unbleached cotton wicks. They’re safe, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, with no chemical processing.
Negative ions:
Breathe easy. Beeswax produces negative ions when burned, which helps neutralize pollutants in the air. This has been shown to help ease allergy symptoms, eliminate odors and improve air quality.
Burn longer:
Beeswax has a high melting point and burns 2–5 times longer than paraffin or soy candles.
