Albert Gibbs keeps bees on the family farm in Dalkeith to supply honey for the family. |

Albert’s son Michael takes an interest and begins keeping bees and selling honey off the farm and to local stores in the area – eventually building up to 150 colonies. |

Michael’s son Tim begins working with a commercial beekeeper in Kemptville. Tim starts with 180 colonies. |
1974

Tim’s brother Peter starts with 50 hives. |
1978

Tim and Peter join forces to turn Gibbs Honey into a commercial business eventually building up to 1300 colonies. |
2011

Tim and Peter’s nephew Russell puts 3 colonies on a friend’s rural property outside of Hamilton. Over the next six years he scales up to 30 colonies. Russell starts selling his honey at local farmer’s markets in Hamilton, Burlington and Toronto. |
2017

Russell and Andrea purchase a farm in Vankleek Hill. |
2018

Russell and Andrea take over the operation from Tim and Peter. |
